I was born in Taiwan in 1952. In 1975 I immigrated to the United States. I was first introduced to glass sculpturing in 1978. During the past years, my hobby has transformed into a fulltime profession where my enthusiasm for this are intensifies with each new piece I create. Watching each piece transform from plain glass rods into marine and wildlife animals satisfies my desire to capture glimpses of nature in my work. All the pieces I create are done freehand without using a mold. A blowtorch is used to soften glass rods with its intense heat, and then the melted glass is reshaped and transformed into its finished form and left to anneal in a kiln. ???In my work I capture the essence of nature???, with heat and imagination, glass rods are transformed into one of a kind sculpture often replicating wildlife and marine life that satisfy my desire to capture glimpses of nature in my work.
